A rouleur is a type of cyclist considered a good all-rounder, usually best suited to the flat and rolling terrain. The LifeCycles Rouleur Ride is generally fairly flat but may include some long steady gradient climbs. Average speed usually 14-16mph but may vary either way to cater for those attending and weather/hangovers. So, ROULEUR = FLAT (ish).

  1. We leave the shop at 9am sharp so get there on time please!

  2. All routes are posted on the facebook page, if you want to join/ leave the ride at any point feel free to do so.

  3. If you are driving to the shop there is secure off street parking.

  4. The distances are a guide and may increase/ decrease depending on conditions, road closures, who turns up etc.

  5. The hills rating is not a rating of difficulty it is a reflection of the terrain i.e. 0 would be pan flat, and 10 would be the Alps

  6. October to March: No mudguards = no ride

  7. If you ride without a helmet that’s your choice but don’t blame us if you hurt yourself

  8. October to March: No mudguards = no ride

  9. Yes, I’m repeating that one. No mudguards, no ride, or you stay at the back of the group.

  10. Front and rear lights advised. Nothing massive, just ones ‘to be seen’

  11. Come with adequate clothing as it can get cold or chucks it down, pack a foldable pocket type waterproof

  12. You need to bring your own spare tube and a pump, repair patches, mini multi-tool etc

  13. Some change required for the café stop/ taxi/ train if you bonk

  14. No-one gets left behind but choose a ride/ pace that you are comfortable with

  15. If the forecast is crap, who cares?? Rule number #5 – MTFU

  16. Bring a mobile phone with emergency contact number

  17. After 3 rides, for insurance purposes, please fill out the membership form and return to the shop with membership fee
